First Time Ever in Saraburi with ‘Saraburi Jazz Festival’

The normally sleepy Saraburi this year celebrated a new year by hosting its first ever Jazz festival, in which an army of renowned Jazz artists gathered to mark the new chapter of tourism in the central province of Thailand. The event was held between 20-21 January at the Manasikarn Hall, Thailand's latest spiritual and cultural destination that received the top vote in the UNSEEN Destination by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) last year.

Attending the event were legendary artists including Winai Bandurak (also a Saraburi native), Nareekrajang Kantamas, Pom Autobahn, Thailand's most renowned jazz saxophonist Tewan Sapsanyakorn, The Golden Song Artists, and Jiab Nontiya Jiewbangpa. Other performers were the Saraburi Jazz Community (SJC) and Mahidol Jazz Youth. It also hosted a special guest Didier Mpondo, an Affrican jazz artist from Cameroon.

Although Saraburi is only less than two hours drive from Bangkok, it is mostly known as a convenient stopover to northern Thailand. Saraburi Jazz Festival unveiled a well hidden gem of picturesque mountain view which looked even more enchanting with the nighttime illumination in the jolly time. The mesmerizing Manasikarn Hall architecture only added to the magical atmosphere.
